    Product detailed description

    A total of 510 locomotives of the 556.0 series for heavy-haul traffic were produced at the Škoda Plzeň locomotive factory in the years 1952 - 1958. The original purpose of the locomotives was for the heaviest freight trains, exceptionally they were also used for passenger trains.

    The locomotives were equipped with a mechanical fuel feeder derived from the French "Standard Stocker" type, from which they also received the nickname "Stokr".
